Profoundly Creative is now open to new members!
The heart of the Profoundly Creative membership is a weekly, live, on-line workshop designed to spark your imagination and help you maintain a regular creative practice. Each workshop is offered on Sundays at both 10 AM and 2 PM Pacific (1 PM and 5 PM Eastern). They’re also recorded in case you miss one.
Wondering what’s ahead? Here’s a rundown of the next couple of workshops, as well as the themes for the coming months:
Sunday April 20: Renewal
In this 1-hour workshop, we’ll explore the theme of renewal in relation to our lives and personal creative practices. Through drawing, collage and writing exercises, we’ll reflect on planting and growing seeds as a metaphor for how we build the future we want to live in.
- What creative seeds are you planting or nurturing this spring? What would you like them to grow into?
- What parts of your creative garden have been resting in a fallow state and might be ready to awaken?

Sunday April 27: Intuitive Drawing
Engage the intuitive side of your brain as we make marks on the page and turn them into drawings. Let go of preconceived ideas and see what emerges. No drawing experience or skill is required, just curiosity and imagination.
May Workshops: Portraits
Each Sunday in May, we’ll be exploring the theme of portraits through a variety of non-traditional approaches, using a mix of writing, drawing and collage.
June Workshops: Symbols
In June, we’ll be exploring the theme of symbols. We’ll look at how symbols are used in art and everyday life, and develop a personal lexicon of meaningful icons to use in our own creative work.
July Workshops: Mapping
In July, we’ll play with creating a variety of different kinds of maps that reflect our experiences, ideas, memories and significant places. For inspiration, we’ll look at the history of cartography and how contemporary artists are using mapping techniques to create new work.

PS: If you’re curious about joining, but not yet ready to commit to the monthly membership, I’m opening up this Sunday’s workshop to non-members for a one-time workshop fee of $15. You can register for the workshop here.
